Thousands
of years after God's prophets, kings, priests, disciples and apostles authored
a collection of writings under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit; and
centuries after these anthologies were compiled, translated from language
to language, consolidated into one book and canonized by the early church
as the inerrant Word of God; and hundreds of years after our ancestors
were initially exposed to and eventually acquired their own copy of these
sacred scriptures; millions of people consider the Holy Bible as the most
inspiring, read, sermonized, studied, sung from, cherished and quoted book
of all times.
Even
though radios, televisions and the Internet are powerful auditory, visual,
and interactive mediums, newspapers are still the most dependable source
of news. Constitutionally protected as the charter (and only) member of
early America's press and symbolic of a free society everywhere, citizens
are best-served and more informed about current events by the existence
of newspapers. In the year 2000 (more than 400 years after newspapers first
appeared in Europe) 55.1 percent of the general population read their local
newspaper on a regular basis, according to the Newspaper Association of
America, a nonprofit organization that represents more than 2,000 US and
Canadian newspapers.
So
The Testament Spectator Bible stories published in newspaper format would
naturally have vast reader interest and appeal. For the Holy Bible is consistently
the best-selling book of all time and newspapers are the daily source where
people learn about current events that affect their lives.
